Breast Lift

In today's era, breast lift surgery has gained popularity among women thanks to its affordability and high-quality results. The outer appearance, particularly for women, significantly influences self-esteem and confidence, impacting their psychological well-being and social interactions.

Harmony boasts a seasoned team of doctors dedicated to delivering top-notch care during breast lift surgery. Here's some valuable information below about this procedure.

Why a Breast Lift?

In addition to personal reasons, various physical factors drive women to opt for breast lift surgery, including:

  • Disparity in breast sizes post-breastfeeding.

  • Sagging due to fluctuations in weight.

  • Nipple and areola sagging.

  • Diminished confidence in breast appearance.

  • Skin irritation beneath the breasts.

At Harmony, our doctors meticulously assess each case, tailoring appropriate treatments to address individual needs. We prioritise patient health with comprehensive pre-operative examinations.

Before Breast Lift:

Prior to undergoing breast lift surgery, it's crucial for patients to adhere to specific guidelines to optimize post-operative results. Here are some key considerations:

  • Inform doctors about any medications being taken.

  • Disclose any chronic illnesses to doctors.

  • Cease smoking or alcohol consumption at least 2 weeks before surgery.

  • Refrain from eating or drinking for 6-7 hours before the operation.

  • Report any allergies to medical products.

  • Discontinue use of aspirin, painkillers, herbal supplements, and vitamins one week prior to surgery.

Additionally, doctors will conduct thorough examinations related to the breast lift procedure to ensure patient health and safety.

During Breast Lift:

Once all preparations are complete, general anaesthesia will be administered. The surgical technique employed will be tailored to address the level of breast sagging and nipple positioning. If nipples are positioned unnaturally, they will be repositioned accordingly. Reshaping of collapsed breast tissue and removal of excess skin will be performed. In cases of significant sagging, doctors may opt for breast reduction. The duration of the breast lift procedure typically ranges from 2 to 3 hours. Following surgery, patients are usually required to stay one night at Harmony for monitoring and care.

After Breast Lift:

Following surgery, adhering to specific guidelines is crucial to ensure optimal results and facilitate a speedy recovery as advised by your doctor. Here are important post-operative instructions to keep in mind:

  • Wear the provided medical corset/bra as instructed by your doctor.

  • Take showers at the times specified by your doctor.

  • Refrain from engaging in sexual activity for the first 2 to 3 weeks.

  • Avoid stretching your arms or lifting heavy objects for at least a month after surgery.

  • Do not sleep on your chest for the first 15 days post-operation.

  • Take prescribed medications regularly and as directed by your doctor.

  • Refrain from participating in strenuous sports activities during the first month following surgery.

  • Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.

  • Expect to resume normal activities within 2 to 4 weeks post-operation.

  • Be aware that pregnancy, breastfeeding, and weight loss may lead to sagging after surgery. It's advisable to address these factors before considering breast lift surgery.

Note: Swelling and tingling sensations are normal after surgery. You will be provided with painkillers to manage discomfort, and these symptoms typically diminish within the first few days following the operation.
